Dr. Mohan Rangaswamy brings with him over 25 years of surgical experience, most of it as a plastic surgeon. He was a national topper in selections at every stage of his education. He has had intensive and comprehensive training in all aspects of Plastic surgery from some of the best medical institutions in India [AIIMS and PGI]. He later gained the fellowship of the Royal College of Glasgow, UK. He is a member of American, International, Swiss and Indian professional bodies as listed below.
Aesthetic Surgery: Dr. Mohan is well known for his skilled hands and keen eye for detail in his aesthetic work. He brings the virtues of careful planning, customization, gentle and precise tissue handling to give natural looking results with least pain and quick recovery. He is particularly sought after for nose corrections, eyelid corrections, breast surgeries, tummy tucks, female genital rejuvenations and fat grafting. He is a pioneer in developing lipo-abdominoplasty techniques with no drains and quick recovery. He has also adopted the advanced short scar methods for breast reductions in women and the nearly no-scar reduction for male breast swelling. He offers the latest and exciting treatment of face, hand and body rejuvenation by using the body’s own cells (stem cells, fat grafts and PRP). Other treatments offered include botox, filler gel injections, face lift by threads, removal of blemishes like moles, scars, skin lesions and acne marks.
Reconstructive Plastic Surgery has the right solutions for problems affecting the form and function of the body; be it due to birth defects, injury, burn, disease, childbirth or previous surgery. Dr. Mohan has long experience in this field while working in University teaching hospitals and in multispecialty hospitals where he has often been the surgeon’s surgeon; helping to solve particularly challenging problems in other specialties by using reconstructive surgery. This has given him a unique insight into challenging problems from head to foot. His additional backgrounds in the fields of kidney transplant, vascular access, general surgery, laparoscopic surgery etc., have given him unique and a rare set of skills, which he uses to advantage.
Some examples are: skin cancer detection and treatment, breast reconstruction after cancer surgery, difficult wounds& scars, birth defects, deformities, nerve problems causing pain and paralysis, difficult hernias, vascular access for dialysis patients etc.
Hand Surgery: Human hand is highly specialized. Dr. Mohan has had advanced training and a special interest in hand. He considers it almost his sacred duty to heal injured hands and has thousands of happy hands that have been restored by him. He has microsurgical skills to re-implant even amputated digits. There are many ‘amazing’ reconstructions that have been completed by him to date for hopelessly injured hands. He collaborates with orthopedic surgeons whenever necessary to give the best possibilities to the hand.
